MARK SJOLANDER

DIRECTOR

Mark is an executive with 27 years’ experience in politics, geopolitical risk analysis, management consulting, and public policy in Australia, and overseas. He has senior executive expertise in policy development and implementation, business operations and service delivery, program and project management, governance reform, and strategic communications and stakeholder management across the public and private sectors.

Mark is a trusted strategic advisor to Chief Executives. Mark’s professional roles have taken him to Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He has served as Chief of Staff to Dr Mike Kelly AM in the Rudd and Gillard Labor Governments, as strategic advisor to Australian Defence Force commanders in Iraq, and as an international policy specialist in the Australian Department of Defence. As an international consultant, Mark managed a EUR 9 million security sector reform program in Myanmar.

As a management consultant Mark has advised public and private sector executives on strategic policy, governance reform, and risk management in complex operational environments. He began his career as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy. Mark holds a Master of Arts (International Relations) with Honours from the Australian National University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Politics) from the University of New South Wales.
