Joanna Olivera is a Director at Bondi Partners, where she brings over a decade of experience in diplomacy and international trade and investment to advise clients seeking to invest and expand in Australia and the United States.
Prior to joining Bondi Partners, Joanna was Director of Trade and Investment at the Australian Consulate-General in San Francisco, where she represented Australia in Silicon Valley and the West Coast. She advised companies ranging from leading tech start-ups to Fortune 500 firms on expanding their businesses in Australia and the USA. Joanna was also responsible for managing the Australian Government’s relationship with leading technology companies and venture capital firms in the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle.
Joanna founded the UK Government’s trade strategy for the eCommerce, Retail and the Creative Industries sectors in Australia whilst working for the UK Department for International Trade at the British Consulate-General, Sydney. She advised UK business leaders on the Australian market and worked on high-level diplomatic events such as Prime-Ministerial visits.
Joanna has also previously worked at CSIRO (Australia’s scientific and research organisation) and Oxfam. She holds a Bachelor of International Studies from Macquarie University and a Graduate Diploma in International Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Joanna is fluent in Spanish.
