‘Fragile time’ for global economy and stability: Joe Hockey

Former treasurer Joe Hockey says we are living in a “fragile” time for the global economy and world stability.

His remarks follow Hamas’ attacks on Israel which have been tied to Iran.

“It’s clear that Iran has partnered with Russia, potentially with China and a number of other countries to support the Hamas invasion of Israel,” Mr Hockey told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

He said the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia recently revealed in a Fox News interview they were close to a negotiated settlement with the United States and Israel on Palestine.

“That would’ve infuriated the Iranians – who are the sworn enemies of Saudi Arabia.

“Of course, I can’t help but think that there was some direct link between the sentiment in that interview and exactly what happened with the invasion of Israel in the last few days.”
