China takes its military might to ‘new level’ around Taiwan

Retired Major General and Bondi Partners Senior Advisor Gus McLachlan says China showing their military might is not new but has recently escalated.

“There’s a lot of sayings, walk quietly but carry a big stick, we’ve certainly known of the enormous growth … in Chinese naval capability,” he told Sky News Australia.

Mr McLachlan said it was already known China had “lethally accurate” long-range ballistic missiles, which could likely hit a US aircraft approaching Guam.

“We’ve known about the reality of their big stick for a long time, it’s another thing to go to this level,” he said.
